Love Triangle Destroyed.
The arguments for my ship have been made very eloquently by many before me, but I’ll add this. Swan Queen is not only smart and inventive, its respectful. It respects Emma and Regina as complicated individuals with difficult pasts. it respects them as woman with their own minds. It respects them as mothers. it acknowledges out of the gate that - if they determine that they want any partner at all - both deserve someone who will respect their struggle, support their desire to change for the better and to be a better mother to Henry, to help them grow as a person, find peace in themselves… and it allows them to not be used as a device to help rewrite their partner’s past indiscretions against them, or just look really hot on their leather-clad arm.
Anonymous asked: Curiosity finally got the better of me and I went to check the Captain Swan tag, and I swear It is fucking ridiculous!! Everyone thinks Hook wanting to bang Emma is the cutest, most romantic thing ever. They don't even have any arguments as to why she should return his feelings other than "omg he's so handsome" and "his brother died so that's sad?" Apparently running into a hot dude is always love at first sight, even if he is a disgusting pile of trash that only sees you as a pair of boobs.
yeah, all of that. it’s weird, sometimes I feel the sads for Hook. Not because of his brother or his drinking problem or his lack of wardrobe but sort of the whole revenge obsession and lack of purpose in life. Telling a woman that she now gives him purpose is weird and obsessive and creepy. If it’s a vehicle for something more—say a new pair of pants and career path—then ok, but leave the woman alone ya know? ‘In it for the long haul’ means ‘I won’t stop harassing her the second Neal leaves her alone’. Creeeeeepy. The fan base that Captain Swan has created is horrible BUT I wonder…I mean the anti-tags are hilarious. Really hilarious. And it’s super fun making fun of both of Emma’s heterosexist ships. When Swan Queen is mocked it’s usually 1. lesbophobic and 2. not funny in the least. But the other anti-tags? Super funny! I can’t help but wonder if the writers are pulling our legs while stringing along a new demographic of 14 year olds with bad ideas about romance? One thing is funny but one thing is just socializing a whole bunch of people to have a whole bunch of fucked up ideas about relationships—like most fairytales do.
That time you confused a lesson for a soulmate.
Since Hook is obviously not going anywhere, I kinda want him and Emma to be friends…
Who drink rum together and talk about how hot Regina is.
